Two police officers from the Marseille branch of the anti-narcotics office (Ofast) (South) were indicted on Friday in Paris by investigating judges for drug trafficking and money laundering, among other charges, the Paris Prosecutor's Office announced, AFP reports.

Investigations "revealed exchanges between police officers and others, involving the transfer of at least 360 kg of cocaine (...)" during a controlled delivery of drugs from Colombia in February 2023.

INFO THE PARISIAN. These two agents who had passed through the Ofast or this elite service had been placed in police custody on Monday, and they were charged this Friday in a case involving the disappearance of 350 kg of cocaine in the summer of 2023.

French police have broken up a network of smugglers who were bringing cocaine into the country on ships. They found 800 kilograms of the white powder on board one of the ships. The smugglers were planning to dump the packages of the drug into the sea. Prosecutor Frédéric Teillet described the case as the first of its kind in the country.
