Outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 have been confirmed in two commercial duck farms in the Hradec Králové Region. These are farms in Nový Bydžov-Chudonice and Dobřenice, which together house around 40,000 breeding ducks.
There are two more outbreaks of bird flu in commercial poultry farms in the Hradec Králové district. The infection affected the duck farms of the Perena company in Dobřenice and Chudonice. There are about forty thousand birds in total. The spokesman for the State Veterinary Administration (SVS), Petr Majer, said on Tuesday that they will have to be culled. Veterinarians have also expanded the protection zones due to the new outbreaks.
