Two dead in flooding in Spain's Catalonia region
Firefighters rescued dozens as transport, flights and power were disrupted and Catalan authorities warned the emergency was not over.

- A 75-year-old man died when a wall collapsed in Tordera, and firefighters found a second man dead in a flooded garage in Montorn. On Friday, a 102-year-old woman perished in flash floods 120 miles from Alicante.
- Search efforts continue for one missing person near a flooded river in Pineda Mar. Officials warned residents near the 11-mile long Bes River to avoid ground floors and move to upper levels as the river risks overflowing.
- The scenes evoke memories of the Valencia disaster two years ago that claimed 232 lives. Last month, a 48-year-old British man died after being swept away in his car in Olivella, underscoring the region's recurring flood vulnerability.

The torrential rains which fell on the east of Spain and placed Barcelona and its surroundings in a state of alert made two m0rts, said the rescues on Sunday 4 October.
Local authorities issued a red alert on Saturday.
