The Bilbaínos José María Basoa Valdovinos and Andrés Martínez Adasme, released by Venezuela after being arrested in the country since September 2024 and imprisoned, are returning to Euskadi after landing by plane early this Wednesday afternoon at the Madrid airport of Barajas.

Andrés Martínez Adasme and Jose María Basoa, from Bilbao, were released by the Venezuelan government on Thursday, along with several other prisoners. The two men were arrested in 2024 on the grounds that they were preparing “terrorist acts to destabilize” the government. The Spanish and Basque governments have “celebrated” the release of the two prisoners and their return home.
