UK police arrest 2 men over arson attack on ambulances belonging to a Jewish charity

Two men arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life after four Jewish charity ambulances were set ablaze in an antisemitic attack, police say.

  • On Wednesday, Metropolitan Police arrested two men, aged 47 and 45, at separate addresses in northwest and central London on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life following an attack on Jewish ambulances in Golders Green.
  • The arrests follow an arson attack at approximately 01:35hrs on Monday, March 23, when four Hatzola ambulances were set on fire in the Golders Green area, with CCTV footage suggesting at least three individuals were involved.
  • Commander Helen Flanagan, Head of Counter Terrorism Policing London, called the arrests an "important breakthrough in the investigation," as officers continue searching the two addresses where suspects were detained.
