Anthropic Worker Quits Over AI Firms ‘Gambling With Our Lives’
An artificial intelligence researcher has resigned from Anthropic PBC and called on other staffers to rethink their work, citing his concern that the company and its top competitor OpenAI are acting irresponsibly in their all-out pursuit of a technology that poses existential risks to humanity.
After Jacob Coxon's high-profile dismissal from Anthropic triggered the IT industry, two other leading professionals announced that they were leaving major tech companies. Fearing that I.I. might get out of control and destroy humanity, former Anthropic and Google DeepMind staff decided to publicly announce the risks associated with developing advanced I.I. systems.
