Teen Jailed After Roblox Chat Escalated Into Sextortion and Self-Harm of 15-Year-Old Girl
Palmer blackmailed a teenage girl with nude images and self-harm material and was linked to the 764 network, prosecutors said.
- On Thursday, 18-year-old Elijah Palmer from Sheffield became the first person in South Yorkshire sentenced for encouraging serious self-harm under new legislation, receiving four years and nine months in custody plus four years extended licence.
- Palmer first targeted the 15-year-old on gaming platform Roblox before moving conversations to Discord, where he escalated to blackmail using a fake bomb threat created in her name to coerce her into sharing explicit content.
- On the victim's 15th birthday, Palmer forced her to carve his alias 'Slitted' into her breasts with a razor blade, telling her 'Make it deep enough so it will scar forever,' while coercing degrading videos calling him her 'owner.'
- Judge Peter Hampton deemed Palmer a 'dangerous offender' whose abuse was stopped only by the victim's bravery, warning that 'anyone who encouraging children to abuse or harm themselves should expect severe punishment' and severe penalty.
- The 764 network operates as a decentralised criminal enterprise targeting vulnerable children; the National Crime Agency classifies it as an online community where offenders collaborate in child exploitation, and the victim fears her abuse content may circulate online.
