Ali Hamza Pehlivan, head of the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD), stated that as of today, they have reached 1104 earthquake monitoring stations across Türkiye, which he said represents the highest capacity in Europe.
Istanbul is hosting the 40th General Assembly of the European Seismological Commission and the ESC2026 European Seismological Congress for the second time.
AFAD President Ali Hamza Pehlivan:
"As of today, we have reached 1104 earthquake monitoring stations throughout Turkey. This means we have the highest capacity in Europe."
