According to the Middle East Eye, Cairo is seeking US intervention to prevent eastern Libya from ratifying the EEZ agreement with Turkey, which threatens Greek and Egyptian interests in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Egypt is concerned that if the Haftar side ratifies the Turkish-Libyan memorandum, tensions will arise in the Eastern Mediterranean. And it is calling for US intervention.
