Turkish police arrested 30 people on corruption charges today, including a former lawmaker from the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) and the mayors of three CHP-run districts in Istanbul.
President Erdogan has again taken action against the opposition. 47 arrest warrants were issued in a 5th wave of arrests, five of them against mayors.
They were about 100 after that of Ekrem Imamoglu, President Erdogan's main political rival, who had caused huge protests in March.
