Turkish authorities detained an opposition Istanbul district mayor and five others on Wednesday over alleged irregularities in building and occupancy permits, broadcaster NTV reported.
Breaking news... An operation was carried out this morning as part of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the Üsküdar Municipality. Six people, including Mayor Sinem Dedetaş, were detained in the operation.
