"Tsushima Maru" Hull Shows Torpedo Damage Hole; Government Investigation Finds No Remains or Personal Belongings (Kyodo News)

On the 26th, the Cabinet Office released the results of an underwater survey of the Tsushima Maru, a school evacuation ship sunk by the US military off Akusekijima Island in Kagoshima Prefecture in August 1944 during the Pacific War. A hole believed to be the result of a torpedo attack was confirmed near the center of the port side of the hull. No remains or personal belongings were found. Video taken during the survey
