TSMC wins state land auction

ARIZONA STATE LAND DEPARTMENT By Hailey Mensik | Phoenix Business Journal Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. is shelling out nearly $200 million to buy the land south of its fast-growing Phoenix plant. The semiconductor giant was the winning and only bidder during an Arizona State Land Department auction on Jan. 7, with TSMC Arizona President Rose Castanares raising the winning paddle with a bid of $197.25 million.
