TSMC's Kumamoto fab back to normal after earthquake
Taipei, Aug. 4 (CNA) The operations of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.'s (TSMC's) fab in Kumamoto, Japan, have fully returned to normal after an earthquake hit the area, TSMC said while also pledging to donate 250 million Japanese yen in disaster relief.
(Tokyo=Yonhap News) Correspondent Cho Seong-mi = TSMC has normalized operations at its Kumamoto Plant 1 in Japan, which had suspended operations due to the magnitude 7.1 earthquake that occurred last month.
TSMC’s Kumamoto Plant 1, which had halted operations due to the earthquake, returned to normal after six days, and nearby companies such as Sony and Renesas are also sequentially resuming production through reinforced seismic isolation systems.
