- Trump criticized the public course's grass and sprinkler system condition. The National Park Service reported last month that debris from the White House East Wing demolition, dumped on the grounds, tested positive for lead, chromium, and other toxic metals.
- The redevelopment of the East Potomac Park site remains subject to a lawsuit in U.S. District Court. During his tour, the president also reviewed updates to Lafayette Park and plans for a triumphal arch near the White House.
- Trump announced plans to meet Janeese Lewis George, the Democratic primary winner for Washington mayor, after labeling her a "Communist" on social media. Lewis George stated Thursday she would work with the president but "stressed that she would not comply."
- Once renovated, Trump stated the Course will have the capacity to host Major Golf Tournaments, including The U.S. Open, The Ryder Cup, The PGA Championship, and other top PGA Tour events.
