The White House Has Blunt Response to Claim Donald Trump Is Listed in Epstein Files
UNITED STATES, JUL 25 – Trump denies prior knowledge of his name appearing in Jeffrey Epstein files despite May briefing by Attorney General Pam Bondi, contradicting Wall Street Journal reports.
- On July 25, 2025, while leaving for Scotland, Donald Trump told reporters he had never been informed that his name appeared in documents connected to Jeffrey Epstein.
- This denial conflicts with a Wall Street Journal article reporting that in May, Pam Bondi and her deputy briefed Trump about his name appearing several times among numerous prominent individuals.
- The Justice Department announced earlier in July it would not release more Epstein-related files, stating no evidence existed to pursue further charges or a client list, while Maxwell continues appealing her conviction.
- David Oscar Markus praised Maxwell’s cooperation with investigators, and the White House communications director called the WSJ story 'fake news,' with Trump suing the Journal and Rupert Murdoch for $10 billion over an alleged lewd letter.
- The dispute highlights ongoing controversies around Epstein’s case, with Trump asserting he cut ties long ago and officials emphasizing the Justice Department’s efforts to seek truth without uncovering incriminating evidence on additional parties.
