- Up to 100,000 tons per month are allowed to enter the country duty-free under the policy announced Friday, with President Trump claiming he has a "Commitment" from participating countries to sell the product at 25 percent below current market prices.
- Meat described only as "packed" or "processed" in the United States may still have originated overseas, as cattle can be raised and slaughtered abroad before being cut or rewrapped at a domestic facility.
- Shoppers may also look for "Born, Raised, and Harvested in the USA" or certification from the American Grassfed Association, as quality grades like USDA Prime, Choice, or Select speak only to marbling and tenderness, not origin.
