Nine US states have now adopted legislation that clears the path for plug-in balcony solar kits, including Utah, Maine, Virginia, Colorado, Maryland, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Vermont, and New Jersey.
New Jersey opened the way for tenants and apartment residents to install plug-in solar balcony panels of up to 1,200 W, without municipal permits or general blockades by owners. The measure follows the German model, although it arrives as that European market begins to cool.
