Trump says missiles aimed at Iran if Tehran targets US president
Trump said the military has been ordered to respond if Iran tries to kill him, as U.S.-Iran tensions rise after new intelligence reports.
On Friday, President Donald Trump issued a stark warning to Iran, stating the United States has "1,000 missiles" locked and aimed at the Islamic Republic if Tehran attempts to assassinate him.
Tensions escalated following statements by the Friday Prayer Policy Council calling for revenge over Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei's death, while funeral crowds chanted "Death to America" and "Death to Israel."
Poet Mohammad Rasouli declared, "From now on the shroud is our garment. I swear by your blood; Trump's murder is our responsibility," receiving loud applause from funeral mourners.
Trump claimed military orders have been issued to keep forces on alert for one year, threatening to "completely decimate and destroy all areas of Iran" if assassination attempts occur.
Despite military escalation, Trump claimed Tehran is seeking a diplomatic settlement and suggested American farmers could supply food to Iran if relations improve through negotiations.
