US President Donald Trump said he was “getting very close to a deal” with China to extend the trade truce that saw the two countries agree to reduce tit-for-tat tariff hikes and ease export restrictions on rare earth magnets and certain technologies.
Asian stock market indices turned green on Tuesday, as investors welcomed comments from US President Donald Trump, who said Washington was "very close" to extending a trade truce with China. He also threatened higher tariffs on pharmaceuticals and chips, the French news agency dpa reported.
"We're getting closer to a deal. Our relationship with China is very good," Trump said.
