- Footage and the agency review indicate Pretti had been disarmed before being shot, and a Border Patrol agent later reported securing Pretti's firearm after 10 shots were fired, including six while he lay motionless.
- CBP's Office of Professional Responsibility reviewed body-worn camera footage and sent its report to members of Congress on Tuesday while Homeland Security Investigations leads the probe, prompting former OPR officials Daniel Altman and Matthew Klein to urge an FBI investigation and call for transparency.
- Kristi Noem shortly claimed Pretti was `brandishing` a gun, but videos contradicted this and the review did not confirm it; Trump also faulted Pretti for bringing a gun.
