Trump “Chipping Away” at DACA and Other Protections

Dreamers and their advocates say the Trump administration has launched a multifront attack on DACA and benefits historically extended to noncitizens. Tricia McLaughlin, assistant press secretary at the Department of Homeland Security, recently told the undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as children known as Dreamers, who have for years participated in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, to self-deport.
