The U.S. plans to designate four European Antifa groups as Foreign Terrorist Organizations, blocking their assets and banning material support due to violent anarchist attacks, officials said.
- On Thursday, the U.S. State Department announced it will designate four European antifa-linked groups as Foreign Terrorist Organizations and Specially Designated Global Terrorists, effective next week.
- Antifa Ost in Germany, the Informal Anarchist Federation/International Revolutionary Front in Italy, and two Greece-based groups—Armed Proletarian Justice and Revolutionary Class Self-Defense—were designated, the State Department said.
- State Department fact sheet cited explosive, shooting, and assault attacks targeting civilians, law enforcement, and government facilities by all four groups, including IEDs claimed by Revolutionary Class Self-Defense and a bomb planted by Armed Proletarian Justice.
