Qué Pasó Con Los Archivos De Martin Luther King Jr. Que El Gobierno De Trump Desclasificó
UNITED STATES, JUL 22 – The Trump administration published 230,000 pages of declassified documents online to increase transparency about the assassinations of King, RFK, and JFK, officials said.
- The first wave of assassination files, six months after President Donald Trump issued an executive order, was released by Tulsi Gabbard, making them available online through the National Archives.
- On Jan. 23, President Donald Trump issued an executive order covering key assassinations, saying `the American people deserve transparency and truth`.
- According to a DNI press release, the documents include internal FBI memos detailing case progress, unique foreign evidence from a Canadian police department and never-before-seen CIA records outlining overseas intelligence.
- They `condemn any attempts to misuse these documents`, while Bernice and Martin Luther King III oppose the release, citing family concerns over legacy and a 1999 conspiracy finding.
- Unlike most JFK files, the MLK records had never been digitized and sat collecting dust until today, the DNI press release read, and the release must be viewed within its full historical context.
