President Donald Trump acknowledged Wednesday that internal volatility within Iran could jeopardize a potential nuclear deal, noting that instability rather than specific hardliners poses the primary threat to the agreement.
Following an ongoing ceasefire, Iran targeted American allies Kuwait and Bahrain on Tuesday, striking the Kuwait International Airport and injuring several civilians.
Trump remains optimistic about a potential agreement, as an American naval blockade against Iranian ports currently costs the Iranian economy up to $500 million daily.
While reiterating warnings of 'drastic strikes' against the Islamic Republic, Trump prefers a diplomatic solution, stating, 'Most of my people, I think, would like to do that.'
