Saudi Officials Say Houthi-Claimed Attacks on Riyadh Airport Killed 3
Saudi aviation officials said the attacks damaged airport facilities and a Saudia plane, and flights later resumed normally.
On Thursday, two attacks at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh killed three Saudi nationals, including a Saudia Airlines pilot, the Saudi Civil Aviation Authority confirmed on Friday.
The Iran-backed Houthis claimed responsibility for the attacks, citing two cruise missiles fired at the facility as the conflict with Yemen's Saudi-backed government intensifies.
Striking airport facilities first, the attacks also damaged a Saudia aircraft with no passengers on board at the time, according to the General Authority.
Operations at the airport resumed by 6 p.m. on Thursday following the attacks that authorities said "resulted in the martyrdom of three citizens."
Houthis have repeatedly targeted civilian infrastructure and oil facilities in Saudi Arabia while seizing territory along the Red Sea coast in Yemen during their offensive.
