Tribunal Reverses Pretrial Detention of Former Mayor of Puerto Montt Charged with Fraud Against the Treasury - La Tercera

The Court of Guarantee of Puerto Montt yesterday reversed the pretrial detention of the former mayor of the southern city, Gervoy Paredes (ex-PS), and replaced it with the precautionary measure of total house arrest. The former communal chief is charged with the consummated crimes of unjustified increase in property of public officials, bribery, money laundering and fraud against the Treasury.
