Christopher Marte, the incumbent for our City Council seat — District 1 — has won the election after five rounds of voting in the ranked choice system. Once candidates Eric Yu and Jess Coleman were eliminated in rounds 3 and 5 respectively, the tally was 61.9 percent for Marte and 38.1 percent for challenger Elizabeth Lewinsohn.
