On Tuesday, January 6, the Geophysical Institute of Peru (IGP) shared — through its official X account (formerly Twitter) — that several earthquakes were recorded in different regions of the country. Faced with the increase in seismic activity, the entity asked the citizenry to remain calm, follow evacuation protocols and prioritize the safety of children, older adults and vulnerable people in case of an emergency.
