The Regional Electoral Court of Rio de Janeiro (TRE-RJ) unanimously rejected the application of Anthony Garotinho (Republicans) to the state government in this year's elections. The defense of the former governor had entered with a request for postponement of the trial, which was also denied. There is still recourse to the Superior Electoral Court (TSE).
