Our body is a living map of stories, resistances, oppressions and also victories. In particular, the racialized bodies—especially the bodies of black women—have been and continue to be territories where a constant battle is waged against racism, sexism, structural violence and the denial of our humanity. Therefore, when we talk about our body, we talk about power, memory and dignity.

Historian Mia Bay discussed her book, Traveling Black: A Story of Race and Resistance, which explores racial restrictions on transportation and resistance to the injustice. This class was part of the Zinn Education Project’s Teach the Black Freedom Struggle online people’s history series.
