The Swedish Maritime Administration has warned of GPS interference in the southern and central Baltic Sea since May. The warning is now being extended to the northern Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Finland, the authority tells SVT Nyheter. “We have sent out a navigation warning that people should be careful,” says Fredrik Strömbäck, press spokesperson.
Minister of Transport Eugenijus Sabutis says that GPS signal interference, which has recently affected aircraft flights and ships in the port of Klaipėda, will not stop after the end of the war started by Russia in Ukraine, so countries in the region must take action.
