From March 30, 2026, the approximately 4,000 security personnel of the Paris public transport system will be allowed to check luggage and people, confiscate dangerous objects or illegal goods, and refuse access to train stations and metro stations.
The law of April 28, 2025, came into effect this Sunday. It gives the 4,000 security officers of the SNCF and RATP enhanced resources to intervene more quickly.
