Transfer Request Submitted? Arsenal and Liverpool on Alert After Attacker's Latest Move
The 21-year-old forward wants Lille to consider offers from bigger clubs, but the French side says a summer move is not planned.
On Tuesday, Lille President Olivier Letang rejected an exit request from Matias Fernandez-Pardo, despite reported interest from Arsenal and Liverpool. Letang insisted the 21-year-old forward remains contracted until 2029.
Fernandez-Pardo, who arrived at Lille for €10 million two years ago, reportedly seeks a move to a bigger European team after changing agents recently. He allegedly believed he had permission to leave, a claim Letang firmly denies.
Across 71 appearances, the Belgian attacker has recorded 12 goals and 11 assists, proving his value to Lille. He remains the primary striker while Hamza Igamane continues rehabilitating from an ACL injury.
Letang stated, "The player is under contract until 2029, and his departure is not an issue." He added Fernandez-Pardo never had a release clause, dismissing exit rumors.
With the Champions League campaign approaching, Lille expects the forward back in training this weekend. The club believes the tournament will enhance his reputation and market value.
