More than six hundred people, including two former prisoners and the relatives of former prisoners, commemorated the transfer of Camp Amersfoort on Sunday. This took place exactly 81 years after the German occupiers had handed over control of the penal and transit camp to the Red Cross. Shortly thereafter, on May 5, the German capitulation followed.
