Arsenal Put Off by €100m Demand for Priority Target, Set to Pursue Deal for Alternate Player Instead: Reports
ENGLAND, JUL 6 – Arsenal chose Viktor Gyokeres over Benjamin Sesko due to stalled talks and a high asking price for Sesko, with Gyokeres expected to add 20-30 goals next season, sources say.
- Arsenal secured an agreement to sign Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres following direct talks and a delegation's visit to Lisbon last Friday.
- Arsenal shifted focus to Gyokeres after RB Leipzig demanded around €100 million for Benjamin Sesko, putting that pursuit on hold.
- Gyokeres accepted all contract terms offered by Arsenal and has informed Sporting he will not return to training as he aims to join the Gunners.

- The signing is intended to resolve Arsenal’s long-standing striking issues, following three straight seasons finishing as runners-up and a previous campaign in which no player managed to score ten or more league goals.
