As soon as the departure was given, Yoann Richomme and Corentin Horeau (Paprec Arkéa) had to turn back. Their IMOCA struck a buoy off Le Havre, forcing the crew to a technical stopover to secure the boat.
The images of the start were beautiful, but it must have been difficult on board the three classes that set off this Sunday. Under cloudy skies and in an already rough sea, this energetic start set the tone for an edition already marked by the weather, which led the race management to add a stopover for the Class40s.
