A guide to the French Alpine Club died by drowning this Sunday during a trip to the valley of the Fournel, a popular area of the Écrins National Park. The accident occurred at the beginning of the afternoon in this famous canyoning site of the Hautes-Alpes. Despite the rapid intervention of the high mountain gendarmes of Briançon and Jausiers, the attempts to resuscitate were unsuccessful.
