PENDER COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – A fire closed all lanes of Highway 17 in both directions on Monday, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT). The fire was reported around 11:30 a.m. in the Hampstead area near Transfer Station Road.
