Tractor-Trailer Cab Crashes, Plunges Off Bridge
NEW CASTLE COUNTY, DELAWARE, JUL 11 – The tractor trailer struck and collapsed a concrete wall before falling into the river, prompting multi-agency rescue efforts including dive teams, officials said.
- A tractor-trailer cab crashed through a concrete wall and plunged off the southbound Delaware Memorial Bridge into the Delaware River early Friday morning, July 11, 2025, in New Castle, Delaware.
- The crash occurred after the Bobtail Tractor crossed three lanes on the bridge downslope and struck the wall, causing it to collapse before the vehicle entered the water, and the cause remains under investigation.
