Tourist accused of hurting teen over Disney parade spot
ORANGE COUNTY, FLORIDA, JUL 22 – Martha Lucia Zapata Echeverri faces child abuse charges after injuring a 17-year-old during a dispute over parade viewing space at Disney's Magic Kingdom, officials said.
- On July 21, 2025, at Magic Kingdom's Main Street U.S.A. in front of Cinderella Castle, Martha Lucia Zapata-Echeverri was arrested for allegedly grabbing a 17-year-old girl during the parade crowd.
- Amid a dispute over a viewing spot, the teen told investigators `it's her spot` and asked her not to be touched in Spanish, Zapata-Echeverri engaged with the teen.
- With no independent witnesses or surveillance footage, the affidavit notes the teen suffered a bruise and abrasion on her arm.
- A judge reduced her bond to $2,500 and barred her from Disney properties, and she pleaded not guilty.
- During a court hearing Tuesday, Bryan Farinas said she arrived on July 2 on a tourist visa, and she is scheduled to return to Spain on Jul. 23.
