Tottori Prefectural Museum of Art holds opening ceremony; last in the country, with 10,000 pieces in its collection (Kyodo News)

Ahead of the opening of the Tottori Prefectural Museum of Art on the 30th, an opening ceremony was held on the 28th in Kurayoshi City, Tottori Prefecture. Tottori is one of the few prefectures in Japan that does not have a prefectural art museum, and is almost the last to have one at the prefectural level. The new museum will have a collection of about 10,000 pieces, and will exhibit a wide range of works from Japan and abroad.
