- On Monday, TotalEnergies announced a hydrocarbon discovery offshore the Republic of Congo after drilling the MHNM-6 NFW exploration well, which encountered a 160 metres column of oil and gas.
- Operating the Moho license, TotalEnergies holds a 63.5% stake, while partners Trident Energy and SNPC hold 21.5% and 15% respectively.
- The Moho discovery represents recoverable resources estimated at close to 100 million barrels, with the Company planning to develop these as a tie-back to existing facilities.
- Nicola Mavilla, Senior Vice-President Exploration at TotalEnergies, said the project allows a "short-cycle, cost-effective tie-back development" due to proximity to existing production infrastructure.
- TotalEnergies continues exploration efforts in West Africa, recently securing the Nzombo exploration permit alongside partners QatarEnergy and SNPC to replenish declining regional resources.
