More than one in two Austrians or one in two Austrians has already experienced a burnout. Most of the main causes are work-related stress and financial concerns, according to the current STADA Health Report 2025. AUSTRIA. Although two thirds of the population consider their mental and physical health to be good, at the same time the majority of the 1,000 respondents in Austria want targeted support to reduce stress or improve their health.
Summer is traditionally regarded as a time of recovery – but many employees are exhausted into the warm season. New studies show that burn-out is no longer a marginal issue, but a profound challenge for companies. Burn-out is not just a personal weakness or a phase of overburden. Rather, it is a symptom of profound structural deficits in companies. Especially in economically tense times, many employees are under increasing pressure.
