Centre Party bets on Tidö bloc collapse to open door for new coalition
With less than a month left until Sweden's September 13th election, the Centre Party is now going all-in on aiming to attract voters to its "Middle Alternative", with its dream government consisting of the centre-left Social Democrats, the right-wing Christian Democrats, possibly the centre-left Green Party – and obviously the Centre Party itself.
The Tidö bloc has been the Sweden Democrats' springboard to the highest power. But just when Jimmie Åkesson is close to taking a seat in the government, the chance seems to slip out of his hands. A bitter defeat for Åkesson's strategy that forces the SD to find a new role. The question is what Jimmie Åkesson himself will come up with.
