Tom Holland Hopes to Usher In the ‘Next Chapter’ of ‘Spider-Man’ Franchise After 10 Years in MCU
Holland said his rejected pitch helped shape Peter Parker’s changing powers and that he wants to help set up Spider-Man’s next chapter.
On July 31, 2026, Tom Holland reprises his role as Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the highly anticipated fourth installment of the franchise.
Holland actively contributed to the script, telling Empire he and producers met every two weeks to pitch ideas, including his tagline pitch, "Spider-Puberty."
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said the film focuses on "classic elements of Spider-Man," with direction by Destin Daniel Cretton and cast including Zendaya, Jon Bernthal, Sadie Sink, and Liza Col.
For the next chapter, Holland hopes to help establish a successor, potentially featuring Miles Morales, Spider-Gwen, or Spider-Woman.
Inspired by Robert Downey's mentorship, Holland hopes to support the transition when the time comes. "I would be so content swinging off into the sunset," he said.
