The Nikkei stock benchmark gained after a three-day holiday as Tokyo’s market caught up with a global AI-led rally. Climbing bond yields and a rise in oil prices weighed on broader risk appetite, however.
The Tokyo Stock Exchange saw a significant rise, with the Nikkei index closing up by 0.76%. The market was driven by the titles related to artificial intelligence, thanks to a recovery movement after three days of festivity.
