The 46th Tour de Hongrie, which celebrates its 100th anniversary, started on Wednesday from Budapest's Szent Gellért Square. Large and enthusiastic crowds welcomed the field in the towns and villages along the route, and the locals carefully prepared to welcome the competitors. The best Hungarian of the first day was János Pelikán, who therefore took the white jersey.
