- On Thursday, the Enforcement Directorate searched I-PAC's office and Pratik Jain's residence as part of a PMLA probe linked to an alleged coal smuggling syndicate.
- West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee arrived at Pratik Jain's home during the search and stayed about 20 to 25 minutes, while TMC leaders say the ED confiscated party hard disks and candidate lists and the ED accused Banerjee of removing `key evidence`.
- TMC and I-PAC moved the Calcutta High Court challenging the legality of the searches, the ED alleged illegal interference, and a hearing is scheduled for Friday as TMC leadership announces protests.
- Amid looming Assembly polls, the TMC signals further protests across West Bengal and nationally, with the state due to vote in the next three to four months.
