The president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, has signed this Thursday the Maíz-Tortilla National Agreement with producers, marketers, harineros, nixtamaleros and tortileros to regulate the price of the tortilla nationwide. The goal is that in the next six months this product will reduce its price by 5%, taking as reference the average cost of each state, and that by the end of the six-year period the decrease will reach a total of 10%.
